January 2026 Newsletter: Out of Office Notice + Don't Get Any Big Ideas this Month!
A Note from Rosemary…
Hi Friends,
It’s that time of year again! 🎉
Each January, around my birthday, Evan and I take our annual “big trip.” Last year, it was Bali. This year, we’re heading to Hong Kong and Tokyo. For two weeks, we’ll wander through long lists of recommended shops, coffee spots, and neighbourhoods, soaking up the culture and being fully present with one another.
It’s something we look forward to all year. A chance to step outside our routines, create memories, and experience the world in a way that stays with us long after we return.
As a business owner, taking time away isn’t always easy. It requires thoughtful planning, organization, and most importantly, a strong team holding things down while you’re gone. But it matters.
Life moves quickly. So quickly that years can pass in the blink of an eye. When you’re working day in and day out, it’s easy to start wondering when the fulfillment arrives, or if you’ll ever feel caught up. Job satisfaction is important, but it’s not the only thing that sustains us.
Quiet time, reflection, and space to grow as people are just as essential.
That said, restoration doesn’t require a big trip. It can be a quiet weekend away, an unhurried afternoon with a friend and your phone left behind, or diving into a course or hobby simply because you love it, not because it leads to anything productive.
So this month, I’ll leave you with this thought. Instead of focusing solely on improving your value in the eyes of society, through titles, status, or output, what are your internal goals this year? How are you feeding your soul, expanding your perspective, and making space for joy?
Wishing you a beautiful start to 2026, filled with fulfillment, adventure, and moments of pure presence.
With gratitude,
Rosemary

It's January, Don't Get Any Big Ideas!
January arrives with a familiar pressure to start fresh. New goals, bold resolutions, and ambitious plans for the year ahead.
Vision matters. Goals matter. But January does not require reinvention.
In the natural cycle, winter is not a season of beginnings. It is a season of rest, preservation, and quiet maintenance. A time to hold steady rather than overhaul. To reflect rather than rush.
Instead of approaching January with sweeping changes and unattainable expectations, consider using this time to take stock of what already exists within your business.
➡️ Where are the weak points?
➡️ What could be refined or simplified?
➡️ Where might small adjustments improve the client experience or return valuable time to your day?
This is a season well suited to reviewing systems, tightening workflows, and strengthening foundations. Progress made slowly and intentionally tends to last.
It can be tempting to declare, “Let’s change everything.” But consistency builds trust, and clarity builds momentum. As StoryBrand puts it, if you confuse, you lose.
There is value in staying the course. In continuing to build something thoughtful, meaningful, and sustainable. Big ideas will come, but they don’t need to arrive in the middle of winter.
For now, rest. Refine. And move forward with intention.
