December 2025 Newsletter: Let's Have An Honest Convo, Winter Is Not It
A Note from Rosemary…
Unpopular Opinion: Winter Is Not It
I’ll admit it… I usually struggle through winter. Like many Vancouverites, I find the short days, long nights, and constant rain a little hard to handle.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the cozy parts of the season. A clean home with a glittering Christmas tree, wandering the Shipyards Christmas Market, or sipping an espresso martini in a candlelit bar all make me so happy. Anyone who knows me knows I love Christmas in a big way. But winter as a whole? Not my favourite.
This year, I decided to approach it differently. I built a realistic workout routine that includes spin classes and gym access just steps from home to avoid the wet weather and excuses.
At home, we’ve started a simple vitamin routine, made our space extra cozy, and are embracing the slower pace of the season. That means weekend sleep-ins, reading more, and planning a few joyful outings to look forward to.
As usual, we have our annual “big trip” around my birthday in January. Having something exciting on the calendar always helps the darker days feel a little lighter.
Winter is still a challenge, and I have to make a conscious effort to take care of my mental and physical health, but this year feels better.
You don’t need a big trip or major plans to make winter enjoyable. Sometimes it’s about being intentional with your time and energy. Find joy in the little things—put your phone down, start a puzzle, bake something, clean out a cupboard, or listen to a podcast that inspires you.
Winter might not be everyone’s favourite, but it’s the perfect season to slow down, get cozy, and take a breath.
In this month’s newsletter, we’re sharing ways to bring that same cozy energy into your business and marketing. We’re also giving you full permission to take a real break between Christmas and New Year’s.
Seriously, take the break. Have the cocoa. You’ve earned it.
With gratitude,
Rosemary
